Mosses and Liverworts are found in almost every environment and are most obvious in the winter, when other plants may die back or loose their leaves. Yet from the roof tops to walls to our lawns and the trunks of trees, they are able to colonise habitats which other plants find inhospitable. We aim to find the most common and some of the rarest mosses in our city to make a complete record of what is here. The British Bryological society has outings locally which will help to contribute to our recording.
See bryophyte survey for more details.
