Flowering plants

More is known about the distribution of flowering plants in the Cambridge area, than almost anywhere else. This is thanks to the generations of botanists who have contributed to a large collection of records.

The Cambridge Natural History Society website contains many lists of species recorded during surveys of local wildlife sites. These can be found under ‘field studies’ but please note that  most of the record cards on these pages are no longer being updated.

We aim to revisit some of these plants and bring the records up to date. We will also be visiting private gardens , where other botanists have not had the chance to make records. Our outings are a great opportunity to learn about the local flora.
